ABOUT US
JSW Foundation is the social development arm of the JSW Group, one of India's leading business conglomerates. Led by Chairperson Mrs. Sangita Jindal, the Foundation works across education, healthcare, women's empowerment, arts, and community development in regions where JSW Group operates.
Alongside the Tamanna School, JSW Foundation's flagship community initiatives include the Mid-Day Meal programme, the Sanjeevani Hospital, rural libraries reaching over 5,500 children, women's BPO centres across Karnataka and Maharashtra, and the prestigious JSW Sports programme that has supported champions including Neeraj Chopra and Sakshi Malik.
Tamanna School for the Specially Abled is a pioneering institution established in 2008 under the aegis of JSW Foundation, at the OP Jindal Complex in Toranagallu, Vijayanagar, Karnataka. Founded on the belief that every child — regardless of ability — deserves quality education, professional support, and the chance to lead a self-reliant life, Tamanna stands as the only school of its kind in the region, serving children with Intellectual Disabilities, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Autism, hearing impairment, and other special needs.
The school's very name encapsulates its spirit. Tamanna — meaning 'desire' in Hindi — reflects the aspirations of every child who walks through its doors, and the unwavering commitment of those who support them. From a modest beginning with just 4 students, Tamanna has grown into a vibrant community of over 100 enrolled learners, drawing children from rural villages and lower-income families across the Bellary district and beyond.
